Fire Sprinkler System – Testing

Automatic fire sprinkler systems, also known as wet pipe systems, are widely regarded as the most effective method of controlling fires caused by a broad range of hazards. Sprinkler systems can automatically detect a fire, transmit an alarm and control the fire. This can be the difference between a minor accident and a major business shutdown.

Fire can have a devastating effect on a business and poses a serious risk to the safety and welfare of building occupants. It can affect specialised industrial warehouses and storage facilities, through to residential buildings, high rise commercial towers, shopping centres, hospitals, hotels, libraries and more.

Expensive equipment and important data can be destroyed. You can also face property loss, emergency fire damage restoration and water damage restoration, resulting in lengthy downtime while insurance is sorted and repairs take place.

Sometimes during the process of maintenance in accordance with “Australian Standard AS1851-2005” the system can be triggered and a small, medium or large water loss can occur.

Having a checklist in place and all subsequent documentation established will alleviate unnecessary stress, loss of business and business interruptions.
